This app shows real hydrogen atom orbitals as positive and negative phases of the wavefunction.
The quantum numbers n, l, and m select which orbital you are looking at. The label under the quantum number controls gives the familiar orbital name when available.
The blue and red regions represent opposite signs of the wavefunction. A sign change across a nodal plane or nodal surface is a central feature of orbital structure.
The point cloud gives a qualitative picture of where the orbital amplitude is large. The isosurface shows a constant-value boundary of the same orbital, which helps you see nodal shapes and lobe geometry clearly.
The relative isovalue control changes how close the surface is to high-amplitude regions. Smaller values give larger, more diffuse surfaces. Larger values give tighter surfaces around orbital lobes.
The size of the viewing box scales with the expected orbital radius, so higher-n orbitals automatically use a larger spatial range.
